THE NARIGUERA | an artegia collection
The Nariguera collection, also known as nose ring, is inspired and reproduced from the Pre-Columbian jewelry collection of the Gold Museum in Colombia. All pendants of each necklace represent the nose rings that were commonly worn by Columbians in 800 - 1500 B.C in the regions of Tairona and Sinu. Gold represents a deep symbolic meaning for the pre-Hispanic cultures of present-day Colombia. The color and brightness of gold was an association to the Sun and a powerful symbol of fertility. In 800 - 1500 B.C., gold had no monetary value, it was seen as a gift from the Sun. They used the golden objects in spiritual cermonies in order to protect the community, cure an illness or predict the future.
These handmade gold plated adornments are an original ArteGia collection and made with gemstones or fresh water pearls.
